Welcome to Pozorrubio Online
Support a Pozorrubian Writer
Sometime last year, I published an article about Richard Banegas, the husband writer of a Pozorrubian, Zonia Quesada. Richard relates that it took him approximately 7 years to finish his first book, “Hands of Fire/the Phantom Body”, a book prompted by the death of Richard’s brother. After the publication of his first book, 2 more books followed publication. And he is coming up with the third! I believe, instead of 1 book after 7 years, he will come up with 7 books in 1 year. Below is a preview of the books by Richard, which I asked him to send me for publication in Pozorrubio Online. This article becomes a part of my series, “Celebrating Pozorrubio’s Writers”.
Seeding the farms
This month of July, the sun still toasts the fields and our bared skins at midday; but the rains are now here at least (and at last!) to mend us, earth and all.
This morning, July 6, 2010, farmers from the 34 barangays formed early lines before their municipio for the free 2-sack fertilizer pack (complete and urea) courtesy of former 5th District of Pangasinan Congressman Mark Cojuangco and now Congresswoman Kimi Cojuangco and Mayor Artemio Chan.

On February 6, 2002, I got a text message asking me to contact an agency for a job offer. I was considered for a one-year consultancy work by my former employer. The offer was unexpected; my wife considered the compensation “obscene.” Friends admonished me, that I would be a fool to refuse such a lucrative offer. Considering that my second child would be entering college, I accepted the job. I flew to Manila for my medical examinations and passport renewal. After completing all requirements — delayed by the bureaucratic processes in our government agencies — I departed on April 19 back to the land of kings and princes, oil and sand dunes.
